45 year old Earl Simmons, better known as DMX was found unresponsive in the Ramada Inn parking lot in Westchester County Monday night.  First responders showed up to the scene and the rapper did not have a pulse.  Luckily, they were able to revive him by doing chest compressions along with giving him some oxygen and a shot of Narcan.  which is an anti-opioid used to reverse the effects of a heroin overdose.

Some do suspect the rapper had a drug overdose.  His family denies all accusations.  His ex-wife, Tashera Simmons stated “He’s happy, good spirits. The kids were happy to see him. We brought good spirits.”  Tashera also stated “He was really wide awake. The kids were there so we really didn’t talk about it. We were just happy to see him. That he was up with good energy,” Simmons said.

With an extensive background of asthma attacks the rapper stated this was the issue Monday night.  He said that he had a cold all week long, and before he knew it he was having chest pains and then he was in the hospital.  He is very happy to be alive today.  He is expected to be released from the St. Joseph’s Hospital today.

Get well DMX!
