Fright Fest Brings The Wickedness Home To Detroit
Detroit’s Majestic Theatre brought halloween festivities to full throttle with Twiztid’s Fright Fest show. With opening acts like SCUM and Wolfpac, it didn’t take long for the crowd to catch the flow. Packed to the brink – bodies swayed tightly against each other to the hypnotic sounds of the R.O.C and Prozak, just before BoonDox and Blaze Ya Dead Homie took the audience to the next level in preparation for the nights big top – Twiztid.
Taking the stage with a new nightmare in mind, Twiztid introduced their full band to Detroit, “The Wickedness”. When technical issues caused the band to outplay the sound of the mics – the band was pardoned from the stage until the issues was resolved. Twiztid prompted the audience to decide whether to bring The Wickedness back out to join the set again – to which an overwhelming response came as no. So Twiztid did what Twiztid does best – they fuckin’ blasted the microphones and brought the house down.
Twiztid has been experimenting with the accompaniment of The Wickedness on select tour dates through “Welcome to the Underground” tour. Though the crowds called for the set to continue sans “The Wickedness” we’re anxious to hear about any possibilities of involvement on future albums and tours. The sound is different, but without change what do we have left? Jamie and Mono are working tediously to perfect their gift to the fam – their evolving sound – and we’re excited to see where this fresh flavor will lead them to next!
