“Batman: The Killing Joke” Premiere
Warner Brothers Home Entertainment and Fathom Events are bringing you an animated adaptation of “Batman: The Killing Joke”, which will be making its world premiere the night before the opening of San Diego Comic-Con on Wednesday, July 20th. Yes, it’s true! It will be rated R and will remain true to the brutality of the comic! The movie will be released across the country Monday, July 25th. Since it will be rated R you will have to be at least 17 years of age or with an adult. Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy will be back 25 years later to represent their roles as The Batman and The Joker. Tara Strong will also return to star in her role as Batgirl with Ray Wise as Commissioner Jim Gordon.
True hardcore Batman and Joker fans should expect that there are going to be special intros and outros exclusive to the theatrical release. The movie will be available on Digital HD on July 26 and the Blue Ray and DVD will be released on August 2, 2016.
“Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, Warner Bros. Animation, and DC Entertainment have created an amazing production based on a beloved graphic novel, and we’re honored to be a part of this release,” says Fathom Events Vice President of public relations Tom Lucas at a press release. This will be very exciting to comic and Batman fans both OG and fresh meat! As an early 90’s kid I grew up watching every Batman movie and animated series, I’ve never been into comic books only because they were not presented to me. I’m sure these comics have much more depth and I am now very excited to dig into these said comics and hopefully be one of the lucky few to experience the film in all its wonders! I for one am totally geeked!
Tickets for “Batman: The Killing Joke” can be purchased online beginning Friday, June 17 by going to www.FathomEvents.com
I’ve also included the Official Trailer and Sneak Peak for your enjoyment!
