Let’s Get Real: The Juggalo Stereotype

What’s up, juggalos? I want to try something new with ya’ll. I know that we’re pretty quick to dismiss emotions because it’s ‘not juggalo-like’. However, I think it’s about time we got into some real talk. Hopefully you’ll stay with me, but if not, I still got love for ya’ll no matter what. So, here we go!

As juggalos, we’re too often seen as weirdos, creeps, and straight-up lunatics. That’s how society perceives us and unfortunately, it’s something that we’ve dealt with from the very beginning. Outsiders look at the legit psychos who take the music we love so much too far, thinking that Shaggy, Violent J, and whoever else actually want them to go out and commit mass murder. Since that’s all most people care to magnify, we continue to get cast aside. We’re already being real, so let me just put it out there: the hate we get SUCKS. Hell, ya’ll already know all about that FBI bullshit we’re forced to deal with. We were already social outcasts, which is why the majority of us have turned to the juggalo world. Now here’s a bunch of assholes in suits, acting like they understand what we’re all about. Honestly, I could go on for days about how much I despise what the FBI has continued to do to us. However, I’m sure you’re all sick of hearing it, so let’s just move on.

The truth of the matter is, juggalos who are truly down are some of the first to offer a helping hand. Whether it be raising money for charities, helping spread the world of missing Fam, donating to those in need, or even offering to donate a kidney to Shaggy’s brother-in-law, we’ve all done our part in one way or another. When we say we’re a family, we are┬áNOT messing around. Others think we’re a bunch of uneducated, lazy losers. In reality, we all have something about us that is special. We’re a community of talented, funny, creative, whole-hearted, down-to-earth people. Yes, we paint our faces and shower in Faygo. Yes, sometimes we eat Faygo hotdogs and say ‘whoop whoop’ a hell of a lot. At the end of the day, though, we are still human beings. Different, but human fucking beings. We love, hate, cry, scream, laugh, feel joy, and feel pain just like everyone else. We just happen to have more fun.

What I’m really getting down to is this: the love that we have for each other will always surpass the hate we get thrown our way. So stand proud and hold your hatchets high, juggalos. Whoop Whoop!
