Marilyn Manson Joins Cast of Horror TV Series Salem

Rock star Marilyn Manson seems to appear more and more on the big screen these days.  The rocker, who has portrayed to be a cult leader at one point, is set to guest-star in Salem, a supernatural series set in 17th century Massachusetts and centering on the Salem witch trials.

The occult and witchcraft are so often used in cinema with a heinous disregard for even researching its origins. I liked the themes of Salem. It looks at the witch trials without being cliché like most modern films. ~Marilyn Manson

WGN states that the set will take place in the volatile world of 17th century Massachusetts, Salem explores what really fueled the town’s infamous witch trials and dares to uncover the dark, supernatural truth hiding behind the veil of that infamous period in American history. Season 3 will pit the power-hungry devil against Mary Sibley.

Manson will guest-star as Thomas Dinley, the town’s barber/surgeon to whom residents go for anything “from a shave and a haircut to being leeched, bled, sliced open or sewn up.”

In 2014, Manson had a song called ‘Cupid Carries A Gun‘ added to the Salem soundtrack. The song appeared in the second-ever episode of the show, in April 2014.  It marked the first time Manson had agreed for one of his tracks to be used on television.
