Super Mario 64 is 19 years old this year. Popular youtube user pannenkoek2012 is a glitch hunter for Mario 64 and has a laid out a challenge for a recently discovered glitch that he hasn’t seen. Well as new as a glitch can be in a 19 year old Nintendo 64 game. He has offered up $1000 to anybody who can replicate it.
The glitch originally discovered by Streamer DOTA_TeaBag while playing the Japanese version while collecting coins on a stage titled Tick Tock Clock. He was caused him to warp upwards and skip most of the level. This is a rare occurrence in Super Mario 64. A glitch like this is important speedrunners who try to set records on beating games in record times.
Here are the guidelines laid out for this challenge.
“The submission should be a .m64 and .st file, which when played perform the glitch. To submit, you can zip up these files, upload to TinyUpload.com, and then send me the link in a comment or private message. The bounty will hold until the first person successfully submits a recreation of the glitch, at which point I will add the word [CLAIMED] to the end of this video’s title, and then no one else will be eligible for the prize.”
