Fans May See Their Horror Stories Used For New Tales From The Crypt Return

We reported before on the return of Tales from the Crypt produced by M. Night Shyamalan. At the time, the producer was up in the air about where the inspiration for the new crypt stories will come from. It was proposed that the new tales would be taken from the old comics (pictured above).

Now, Wattpad has announced a partnership with Turner networks to use Wattpad stories for television (plus film, print, and digital platforms) starting with Tales From the Crypt . Wattpad Studios is a website where anyone can sign-up for a free account and write and read stories of any and every genre. The idea behind the Wattpad Studios partnership is to open up its approximately 205 million original stories with the entertainment industry giving the industry popular original content. The site will also give entertainment and publishing executives a better idea of what their fan base is interested in by sharing data and community insights. The head of Wattpad, Aron Levitz, told the Walstreet Journal that writers “will take part financially” if their stories are actually used for an episode. Though he didn’t reveal any actual amount to be given.

Just go to to sign up for a free account to start uploading your original content. If you are wanting to be a part of the Tales from the Crypt project you will want to keep an eye on the official Turner Wattpad profile and social media for special opportunities and contests.

The Tales from the Crypt series is set to start in 2017. So, get to writing and be prepared to submit your horror fiction when the time comes they are looking for that popular story. Horror is one of the more popular genres on the site and why they are starting with Tales from the Crypt for this new partnership project which will branch out into other genres. Good luck horror writers! This will create a huge opportunity for those who want to see their works on the little screen.
