Rage Against The Machine “Reunion” Not What It Seems

Rage Against The Machine

When Rage Against The Machine launched the Prophets Of Rage website on May 18th, fans of the band rightfully so suspected the great reunion of the rap-funk-metal group. Having dissolved back in 2011, the band have been a common topic of discussion concerning the hope for new music. After all, RATM is one of the most loved and popular bands to have ever been conceived. Equipped with a countdown clock set for an end date of June 1st on the website, this seemed to be an indication of a reunion date. However, that is unfortunately not the case. What is in store, however, might just be even better. According to Billboard, members of Rage will be joining forces with members of Public Enemy and Cypress Hill! Together, they will form a supergroup known asĀ Prophets Of Rage.

According to reports, the group will consist of RATM members Tom Morello (guitar), Tim Commerford (bass), and Brad Wilk (drums), along with hip-hop legends Chuck D of Public Enemy and B-Real of Cypress Hill. On-again-off-again RATM vocalist Zack De La Rocha will apparently not be involved. Fans will have the chance to hear this insane mash-up of 90’s icons when they debut at the Hollywood Palladium on June 3rd. Afterwards, they’ll perform at L.A.’s Whiskey A Go Go, as well as a possible summer tour with the group performing tracks from all three bands’ discographies. Despite all of this, however, there has yet to be any word about upcoming studio time or future records.

With these artists having worked together extensively in the past, I have no doubt that Prophets Of Rage will be an absolute success. What do ya’ll think of this project? Drop a comment below!
