RIP Errol Brown, Original Vocalist Of Hot Chocolate

Errol Brown

If you find yourself wondering just who in the hell is Errol Brown and who the hell is Hot Chocolate, I would advise you to go take a listen to I’m Comin’ Home, and The Mighty Death Pop.  ICP has sampled(to my knowledge) two of his tracks in their albums.  I’m Comin’ Home samples the Hot Chocolate song Confetti Day which is on the Hot Chocolate album Every 1’s A Winner, and The Mighty Death Pop samples the Hot Chocolate track Every 1’s A Winner, off of the same album.  Rest In Peace to a man that obviously influenced the Wicked Clowns!

Errol Brown died back on May 6th.  He was a British-Jamaican singer/songwriter best known as a founding member of the soul and funk band Hot Chocolate.  Hits from Hot Chocolate include Every 1’s A Winner, You Sexy Thing, and Brother Louie.  He passed away of liver cancer at the age of 71 at his home in the Bahamas.
