Rob Zombie Movie 31 Uncut Version to be Released on DVD
Rob Zombie had to alter his movie 31 twice before finally getting an R rating from the MPAA. It was a frustrating battle unnecessary to his fans. In response to fans’ inquiry about pursuing an R rating after receiving two NC-17 ratings, Rob stated, “Why R you ask? Well, because your local theater will not show an NC-17. Even though you are a fucking adult… things must be censored for your enjoyment.” Leave the watered down version to the Sun Dance Festival and theater goers. Fans want to see all the gory art Rob created. In response to a fan on Facebook Rob did promise that the NC-17 version will be released on DVD. As for when that will be is anyone’s guess.
This inquisition was posted in response to the new movie poster for 31. Now that it is fit to show the delicate masses, the film will be released as planned. The Rob Zombie movie will be premiered at the Sundance Festival this month and everywhere else later in the year. We’ll just have to wait for the DVD before we’ll see the originally intended content in all it’s gory glory.
If you haven’t heard by now, 31 surrounds kidnapped victims playing a deathly game called 31 on Halloween. The victims are trapped in Murder World where they have to survive 12 hours with predatory clowns trying to murder them. It’s no wonder why the poster states, “Welcome to Hell.” This Rob Zombie film must be very intense considering all the work they had to do to live up to industry guidelines.
A movie about murdering clowns seems very juggalo to me. Did seeing Twiztid, Blaze, and all the Juggalos at the Great American Nightmare in 2013 give him the idea for this movie? It’s not like there hasn’t been killer clowns in other movies. It may be a coincidence that they are killer clowns, but, at the very least, it appeals to the Juggalo in me.
