The Crypt Keeper is back in the Tales From the Crypt teaser featuring Split director M. Night Shylamalan explaining the Tales reboot.
Kevin Reilly, TNT and TBS president, revealed a little more info on the new Tales from the Crypt series to air on TNT.
Wattpad Studios and Turner networks are partnering up to use Wattpad original content for new Tales from the Crypt episodes.
This is really not new news for the upcoming Tales from the Crypt return to air on TNT. We already reported back in January when the reboot was first announced that TNT couldn’t use the iconic HBO Crypt Keeper because of HBO’s copyright. But now, we have a confirmation of the inclusion of a Crypt Keeper by M. Night Shyalaman from an interview with /Films at the recent Wondercon.
Cable network TNT decided to revamp and reboot Tales from the Crypt. The show is set to start airing this Fall. But it won’t be exactly like the original aired in the 90’s. Especially since HBO still owns the rights to the Crypt Keeper. Plus, it will have new producers with new formatting.
The cult television classic Tales From The Crypt first aired on June 10th 1989. The episode was titled” The Man Who Was Death” and starred William Shatner. Shatner played a laid off prison executioner who decided to take justice into his own hands after being laid off. The show aired from 1989-1996.
